Web puts the brand image control companies

The pornographic sites, for example, often use popular brands - Mattel’s Barbie and Mercedes are two of the most common - to collect the results higher in search engines, Richard Moore, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Arlington, VA-based Cyveillance, told participants of the Food Marketing Institute Technics brand conference here last week.

Accordingly, when consumers are looking for his favorite supermarket, links to adult sites are probably too.

Moore looked for a Wal-Mart, Kroger, Albertson’s, Safeway, Winn-Dixie, Publix, Bi-Lo, Stop ‘n Stop, Giant Food and A & P, and he found retailers name mentioned in many sites for adults.

Moore said the retail and manufacturers of consumer goods, that membership of pornography is just one of many possibilities, such as the presentation of their brands and products of their control over the Web. Its brands are much Pervasive online, when they realize, he said.

Moore noted that five of 10 grocery retailer has been featured on the sites of complaint and, worse, are more specific as Walmartsucks.com.

The travel industry is particularly the invasion of unauthorized use of trademarks and use of obsolete information online.

“A hotel in the chain could make a reservation by a travel agency, was exceeded with a rate of [on the Web site] and not take the trouble,” said Moore.

Rather black and use of logos and information is also a big problem in the travel industry.

“Our competitors are often attracting customers online booking misconception that clients believe they are still the same, luxury accommodations, Hotel Hyatt offers,” said Joan Lowell, Vice President of distribution and e-marketing at Hyatt, recently placed Cyveillance in the fight against the problem.
