Angola 3 pair move to dorm

Two men in solitary confinement in a Louisiana State Penitentiary in Angola since 1970 have been in maximum security dormitory with the other occupants Monday, said Assistant Warden Angie Norwood.

Herman Albert Woodfox and Wallace are part of a group known as the Angola 3, the State, who claim they are victims of cruel and unusual punishment for the years she spent in isolation. Both were the subject of an invitation to death to keep the prison, their lawyers if they not discuss the obligation to prevent crime.

“It appears at this time that we will, with a view to reaching agreement, we call on the court, let us continue this debate,” said Nicholas Trenticosta, New Orleans lawyer representing the men.

Tammi Herring, a spokesman for an office Caldwell, declined to comment because the negotiations are not yet finished.

The Angola 3, Wallace, Woodfox and Robert King, the earliest to go by the surname Wilkerson.

King has been in solitary confinement because of suspicion of killing another inmate, but believes that the year 2001 was overturned after pleading guilty to a reduction in fees. He spent 29 years in solitary confinement, before his release.

Wallace and Woodfox, had a chapter of the Black Panther Party to combat the problems of the prison, the prison was put to death because of Brent Miller kept during a riot, on April 17, 1972.

In isolation, a prisoner happening 23 hours a day in a cell. On the other hand, spent hours in the shower and washing machines only.

Prison officials, the men represent a security risk in prison.
